How to Use Slack at Signature

Initial Account Set Up:
- Joining Channels:
- Get added to your Department Channels (Dep Channels) and Core Process Channels.
- Get added to your Department Channels (Dep Channels) and Core Process Channels.
- Starring Channels:
- Star channels you plan to monitor throughout the day.
- Notification Settings:
- Set up notifications for mentions (@...) and direct messages for urgent and important communications (screenshot below).
Direct Messages (DMs):
- 1-on-1 Messages: Utilize DMs for one-to-one messages.
- Group Messages: Use the appropriate department or process channel for groups larger than two. Start with a subject line, tag key stakeholders using @mentions, and then reply to the thread with the information.
Rules:
- Ticket/Deal Updates: Tag individuals within HubSpot for any existing Deals/Tickets that need attention; avoid DMs in Slack for these issues
- Channel Creation: Avoid creating new channels without the necessary approval.
- Group DMs: Refrain from creating direct messages with multiple people; use channels instead.
- External Invites: Avoid inviting external individuals into team channels.
- Seeking Help: If unsure, ask. If they don’t have the answer, they’ll find someone who does.

- Bookmark one or two key documents or link to a shared department drive/folder with structured subfolders containing SOPs, Meeting Notes, etc.
