# Off Menu Screen Print Pricing Calculator

## We all know how to price things out manually, but this calculator gives you a quick second check so the pricing we send clients is accurate. Follow this guide to enter the blank cost, quantity, and decoration details, then read the suggested price per item.

### **What You'll Need Before You Start**

1. **The calculator link.** The tool was built in Claude, but you don't need to go through Claude to use it. Bookmark the link so you can open it any time.
2. **The proof or mockup for the item.** You need to see every decoration location and how many colors are in each logo.
3. **Access to SanMar** to look up the per-item cost of the blank.
4. **The order quantity.**

### **Step 1: Review the Decoration Details**

1. **Open the proof or mockup** for the item you're pricing.
2. **Count the decoration locations.** Each logo placement is one location.
3. **Count the colors in each logo.** Write down the color count for every location.

**Heads up:** Pay close attention to the number of colors per logo. Color count drives both the setup fee and the per-item decoration cost, so a miscount will throw off the whole price.

### **Step 2: Look Up the Item Cost in SanMar**

1. **Search SanMar** for the style number (e.g., *YST350*).
2. **Note the per-item cost** (e.g., *$3.61*).

### **Step 3: Enter the Item Cost and Quantity**

1. **Enter the item cost** from SanMar.
2. **Enter the quantity** of the order.

Every field in the calculator is editable, so adjust them to fit the product you're pricing.

**Tip:** Double-check the decimal before moving on. It's easy to type $361 instead of $3.61, which will throw off the result.

### **Step 4: Add Decoration Locations and Colors**

1. **Set the number of decoration locations** to match the number of logos on the item.
2. **Set the color count for each location.**

The calculator pulls the setup fees and per-item decoration costs directly from our pricing sheet, so you don't need to look them up. It breaks out each location so you can see where the cost comes from:

| Logo Colors | Setup Fee | Decoration Cost per Item |
| --- | --- | --- |
| 1 color | $25 | $2.38 |
| 2 colors | $50 | Pulled from pricing sheet |

### **Step 5: Read the Suggested Price and Round It**

1. **Review the suggested price per item** at the bottom of the calculator.
2. **Apply our standard pricing breakdown** to round to a client-facing price.

### **Example**

| Field | Entry |
| --- | --- |
| Product | YST350 shirt |
| Item Cost (SanMar) | $3.61 |
| Quantity | 50 |
| Decoration Locations | 4 |
| Colors | One 1-color logo, three 2-color logos |
| Calculator Result | About $22.79 per item |
| Standard Price | $22.95 |
| Price-Conscious Option | $21.95 (only if still within margin) |

**Margin check:** Only round down to the lower price point for price-conscious clients when the order is still within margin.

- Bookmark the calculator link so it's always one click away.
- Use the calculator to double-check manual pricing, not replace your own review.
- Confirm the color count for every logo before entering it.
- Always pull the current item cost from SanMar rather than going from memory.
- Check decimals on the item cost before reading the result.
- Round to our standard price points, and only go lower when the order stays within margin.
