FINAL EXPORT & HANDOFF

Overview

In this segment, you will learn how to complete the final handoff for the 2D stage and prepare the files for the next step in the workflow.

First, you will see how to close out your portion of the project by marking the 2D section as complete in the tracker and clearly identifying the next owner, such as Elena or Klara. This ensures that everyone understands who is responsible for the following stage.

Next, the walkthrough demonstrates how to handle versioning of the master files. You will take the latest master file, place it in a new “v5” folder, rename it to “v5.0” as the current master, and then duplicate it to create “v5.1,” which becomes the newest working version for Elena or Klara to build from.

Finally, you will learn how to document and communicate the handoff by taking screenshots, recording “last updated” as today’s date, and posting in Slack that the 1Ds are ready for 1D training. This combination of version control, clear ownership, and communication helps keep the entire team aligned.

STEP-by-STep guide

1. Mark the 2D section complete and close out the handoff 0:00

• This is the final handoff for the current workstream.

• Update the tracker sheet and mark the 2D section as complete.

• Once that is done, close out this portion of the process.

2. Prepare the master files for versioning 0:23

• Take the final master file and move it into a new version folder.

• Create a new folder named V5.

• Copy the master into that folder.

• Remove "2D" from the file name.

• Rename the file to 5.0 as the current master version.

• Open the file and confirm the version name is updated to 5.0.

3. Create the working version for Clara 0:58

• Duplicate the 5.0 master file.

• Rename the duplicate to 5.1.

• This 5.1 file is the newest working version that Clara will use.

• Save the file so the updated version is ready for handoff.

4. Note the versioning plan for the future 3:03

• The current setup is a temporary versioning step while the master is still being built out.

• In the future, this file will be uploaded to Zyflow.

• After that, it will be passed to Clara through the normal handoff process.

• For now, keep the working structure as 5.0 for the master and 5.1 for Clara’s active version.

5. Capture screenshots and announce that 1Ds are ready 4:01

• Take screenshots of the completed files and status.

• Zoom out if needed so the screenshot clearly shows the relevant context.

• Post an update in Slack stating that the 1Ds are ready.

• Include a note that this is the 1D training stage.

6. Message Clara and share the folder link 4:42

• Send Clara a message letting her know:

  • The 2Ds have been completed.

  • The files are ready for the 1Ds to process.

• Copy the folder link.

• Attach or include the screenshots in the message.

• Share everything in the Slack channel or handoff thread.

7. Confirm the migration is complete 6:11

• Verify that the work has been migrated to the masters.

• Confirm that the handoff is complete.

• The process is done because the 2Ds and 3Ds must be completed before the 1Ds can begin.

• Once that dependency is satisfied, the workflow can move forward.
